From Humble Beginnings to Award-Winning Innovation: Nate Stein’s Journey to Creating Platescrape

Nate Stein’s story begins in the heart of a small, water-scarce town in California, where he spent countless hours hand-washing dishes for his family’s catering company. Day after day, he watched as gallons of water were wasted, all in the name of getting plates clean. Frustrated by the inefficiency and the environmental impact, Nate knew there had to be a better way.

One night, while working at a particularly hectic wedding event, inspiration struck. Nate envisioned a simple yet effective solution to the problem that had been bothering him for so long. That idea would soon become Platescrape—a revolutionary dish cleaning product designed to save water and make life easier for dishwashers everywhere.

 Platescrape first prototype 2015

Platescrape quickly became a dishwasher’s best friend, drastically reducing the amount of water needed to pre-clean dishes before they hit the machine. This not only saves water but also cuts down on the time and effort required to get dishes spotless.

What started as a necessity in a crowded kitchen or offsite event evolved into a game-changing innovation embraced by kitchens and caterers everywhere.

Nate Stein’s journey from washing dishes by hand to inventing a product that conserves water and improves efficiency is a testament to the power of creativity and determination. Platescrape stands as a symbol of his commitment to solving everyday problems in a way that benefits both people and the planet. Platescrape has received numerous awards including "Most Innovative Kitchen Equipment" and "Best New Restaurant Product"!

After years of development Platescrape is NSF certified and produced 100% in America!
